Three Brothers
Oh what a charming, charming story. Really now its so loving and pure. A light hearted tale… If one really doesn’t care to be lied to. This is the story of how everything came to be. Well, not everything it does not go into depth on how the Gods were created but… it says enough in the way of the world and how us mortals came into our existence.
The story must start with a foreword note. The note on the Deities and who they are, or who they are interrupted to be. As all us children know there are Three Brothers among the celestials and these Brothers, oh my, they are the main Gods, the Head Honchos of the heavens. They go by the name of Acux, Enger and Baisu and they are seen, accordingly, as the White, the Gray, and the Black, for you see as us mortals see it they fallow the moral alliances of light, neutral and dark so seamlessly its astounding. Though we do not know exactly everything we know Acux is the Eldest… Acux the light, Acux the Knowing. He serves as the man of wisdom, intellect, law, order, he is seen as he light, and the birds, he is the eldest, the oldest, the one born first. The one born with Baisu at his heels. And what of Baisu? The Darkened Soul? Vicious and untamed, he stands in defiance and barbaric means? The spitting image of raw power, of strength, and of the sinful thing we lions all carry - pride and ego? Baisu the dark, Baisu the Warlord is the Second Brother… and our story starts with only them, Enger had yet to be born, you see, wrought for the stars and the heavens…
Acux and Baisu are polar opposites. Stiff relations between them, and with the whole of ‘Everything‘ in their possession they tended to argue and feud, for there was nothing to do, you see. They were alone, they were the only ones… hard to imagine, don‘t you think? Gods without mortals to govern? The Eldest spoke to the Second one day, ‘Brother, what would you do if you had someone else to war with?’ and with the beginning of such a question was a beginning of their schemes. Their thoughts and ideas of this new creation, this project. And yet… near the end of having all planned they came to a block. Another argument, this one ever disastrous. Acux wished to govern the people, to give to his creations law, order, understanding. Baisu, he wished to give to the subjects that would bow before him power, strength, pride, ego, the spirit and soul and the will to fight and survive. But, he was not stupid, he was not without his own wit and as he studied their plans he noted how Acux wished to govern more, how Acux wished to rule things more and more in his light, then Baisu‘s shadow. An argument erupted on how the world would be governed and peace could not be found. In the end the heavens rumbled and surged. The darkness that was the ethereal realm shaking and crumbling as the two titans fought. And yet Baisu was the one to fall, succumbing to trickery, death awaiting him… and yet… Gods are not easily Dead.
Acux had another idea, besides. For truth be known he knew all along that their creation would need something, their creation would need a basis and one of them would have to be sacrificed. Knowing, or perhaps thinking, the Eldest saw himself as too great an asset to be lost in such a sacrifice, he thought himself the better to rule the world in which would be created… and so plotted this day… and when this day came he knew what to do, exactly. He took Baisu‘s great corpse and took it too full length. Butchering and cutting and shaping the flesh, he changed and edited and sculpted. He cut veins and forced areas to bleed. And from Baisu‘s hide was made the earth, and from Baisu‘s blood was made the rivers and the oceans. And his brother‘s spirit? He took the spirit and hid it, knowing that if Baisu died then his corpse would cease… but knowing if such a spirit was unleashed from its sealed cavern within… that Baisu would come again in full strength and all the carefully crafted land, ever abundant, would cease. Yet despite Acux‘s planning, he seemed to have forgotten something ever essential.
With his knowing and with his intellect, and with his godly powers he brought onto the world principle and light. Gravity, rules of nature and common life among the world he made. And yet he forgot something important, something essential and needed. Though he had power to command the world, to force upon it rules and reason and system, and though there was land to do such on, a world. There was no life. There were none to teach, none to come to know. No life… and yet it seemed fortune smiled upon him as in that instance of realizing there came into existence another god. The third to be made, the last of the brothers the young sapling smiled upon his older brother, who was stumped so. Speaking to the other he told of his own might, his own power… and his own celestial abilities, not that Acux did not know them already and ask the other for assistance. Did not convince the other to allow Acux to bless the other with the form of the Lion and go to the newly formed world.
As Enger emerged onto the earth in the skin of a lion he smiled once again. Feeling the world moving beneath, feeling the breathing of his other brother [Baisu was not dead, as spoken.] he felt joy and happiness swell within him and as he walked among the ground, and breathed into the air he brought life and color, brought other beings onto the scene, and before long the world was filled with life and people. With minds eager to learn and with beings graciously giving praise to the creature who supplied them so! And once this deed, this task complete Enger, despite his brother’s protest, when about merrily, gathering with the good folk of the earth and spreading love and joy. He stayed with them many nights and many days and laid with rather a many lovely women. And yet for so long he stayed on earth, the people questioned his godliness, for they had yet to see him in the stars, in heaven. He laughed at their thoughts, their spoken words in such a way and to show them, he called into the heavens and spoke to Acux, ‘Brother! I have finished my task, the fair people, they dance with life, and oh do I dance with them! But, they do not believe I am a God anymore! Let me into the skies again, give me back my form! Let me prove to them!’ and so his brother above answered, ‘Enger, tainted Enger, darkened Enger! You ask to be entered back into the skies after participating in such filthy tasks? Never. My brother, you have lowered yourself, I have warned you. This is your punishment for your wrongs.’ and so Enger was stripped of numerous powers… one of which being the ability to enter heaven.
Into the skies he voiced his anger. Pleasant mood and calm self turned vicious and cruel. How dare he be denied?! ‘Oh, young brother, aren’t you stupid?’ This voice was one Enger and all knew. This was the voice of the core of the world, of the spirit trapped and restless, imprisoned underneath he had whispered angry, angry things… but he was powerless as Acux assured, and could not be freed or ever do any harm to any of Enger’s living counterparts. ‘Fell for the trick, I knew you would.’ Mocking and snide the voice rumbled on the breeze, ‘But I tell you what, kin, together we can return to the stars… together, for apart we are weak.’ Enger was angry, fueled by hate but not blinded by it, entirely. And as he walked into the darker gorges, filed into narrow passages and went deeper into the world he knew his plan well. And as he came upon the beasts’ cage he spoke a common pact. Baisu would do as commanded, indebted was the older to the younger. And Baisu, desiring freedom more then all else conceded and… in doing was let loose. But letting all that Baisu was from his cage was not wise, it would destroy the world, this Enger knew. And so a portion, but a small sliver of what the Warlord once was, was allowed back into the world, and because of this his anger flared. Earthquakes, tornadoes, hideous storms, monsters… darklings… they came and they murdered numerous before the chains he was bound to, because of Enger, caught him.
And so after many, many, oh so many generations the three are still ever turned against one another. Acux seen as a traitor by the two. Enger seen as a weakling by the other two. Baisu hell-bent on his revenge.
Acclaimed Spirit of Acux
The Knower of all that is, has, and will be, he is the side of Light. Intellectual, knowing, culture, script he is at the center of it. A very tall and lanky beast he has a regal essence. Associated with birds, flight, and the heavens he is known as the creator of laws and plans and logic and the mind. Civility follows him, as well as crafts and arts. Though in legend he is seen as a traitorous creature unworthy of the trust he had received, few dare inquire of it, for he is currently the most powerful Deity.
Acclaimed Spirit of Enger
Enger is as seen as the Neutral Deity. Also as the Younger and Reckless. It is said he is the Father of Life, and also the representative of fire and water. He is seen as the path of conflict. Indecisive he is often portrayed as a creature who is aiming to please all but ends up pleasing none. It is said he has poor relationships with both his brothers. Enger has a close bond with all creatures, and it is said that he has no need to eat, and though he is depicted as an emaciated lion, bones and skin but despite he is stronger then most men.
Accliamed Spirit of Baisu
The embodiment of anger and strife he is a cruel reminder of the flipside. He is the 'Darker Nature' but, the fable shows a lesson to this story. Though evil will always be dark, at times it is at the core of life that can be ever so good and sweet. As he is the land that all they walk, he is at times seen as the 'Raw Power' and strength of the three brothers. He is chaotic and destructive, but tamed at Acux and Enger's hand. He is closely associated with Earth, no less, and the Warlords of old. He is larger then most men, and is one of the strongest, if not the.
